Grace Vollmer ’26, a third-year staffer, thought she wasn’t good at writing before coming to The Tower, but she has come to love it and has made many friends through the journalism community.

“I really like doing food reviews for the Tower,” Vollmer said. “I have done a lot of Crumbl Cookie reviews.”

Her life outside of the Tower consists of hanging out with her five-year-old dog, Harlow, and hanging out with her friends.

“I really like going on drives at night on Lake Shore with my friends,” Vollmer said. “And I think it’s really fun to just listen to music.”

Vollmer is a multi-sport athlete for South as she is on the swim team and has been playing tennis since she was four years old.

“When I first started Tower, I didn’t know anyone who was taking it and was kind of nervous,” Vollmer said. “After I finished honors journalism, I met so many friends and found that I loved it. I think it is really fun.”
