March Madness is one of the greatest times in sports. You can sit down for countless hours of college basketball which includes some of the greatest moments in sports history. March Madness is so special to sports fans because you can watch any game and see must watch buzzer beaters and upsets. The 2026 march madness created moments that will never be forgotten.
This year the tournament did not consist of many Cinderalles but one of the teams that was one of the surprises of this season and March Madness was Nebraska who before this season had never won a game in March Madness. Troy Glasser, a counselor at South and Nebraska fan, talked about the magical run that Nebraska was able to go on this year.
“ You can make the argument they’re the least athletic team in College basketball, but they just play together. They’re very selfless and they’re connected” Glasser said.
One of the moments that will make March Madness one of the greatest sporting events is buzzer beaters and this year we got one that people will never forget. In the game between Duke and Uconn in which Duke was up as many as 19 in the second half. Then Uconn started ever so slowly chipping away at the lead that Duke had to be down 2 with around 6 seconds left and Duke just needed to pass the ball in and get fouled. Then Dukes Cayden Boozer had the ball at midcourt when he tried to pass the ball and it was tipped by Uconn’s Braylen Mullins who then passed it to Alex Carban of Uconn who passed it back to Mullins who made a game winning three with .3 seconds left in the game. Jack Lenoard 27 offered an opinion on Duke’s collapse.
“Their guard play was kind of interesting because their point guard was hurt part of the time he broke his foot, and they then had Caden Boozer who wasn’t as good,” Leonard said.
The University of Michigan was discussed coming into the tournament as one of the most dominant teams in college basketball. They proved that in March Madness with a 19 point blowout against Arizona. Then Michigan was able to beat Uconn in the national championship to become the national champion. They were led by Junior point guard Elliot Cadeau who ended up being the MVP of the final four after Yaxel Lenderborg suffered a knee and ankle injury against Arizona. The Wolverines were also led by center Aday Mara who was able to play the best he had all year in the tournament. Brady Mage 27’ offered his opinion on Michigan’s National Championship and how Dusty May was able to make all three of his bigs start together.
“ To train them on their passing. I know every time one of three of them got the ball, I trusted they were gonna make the right play. I trusted they were gonna be able to pass out of it or go get a bucket” Magee said.
