Christina Karcher ’28, Copy Editor
Although only in her first year on staff, Christina Karcher ’28 has known since her freshman year that she wanted to explore more English classes here at South. Writing has always been a passion for her and while originally skeptical, Honors Journalism has become one of her favorites classes.
“I didn’t expect to like journalism as much as I did, but it has given me a chance to write about the news and from that, I have been more involved in listening and hearing other news stories around me,” Karcher said.
Outside of spending hours writing, technical theatre has proven to be a very important aspect of Karcher’s life. This includes operating backstage or in special booths, working her way up to stage manager in several of the Grosse Pointe Theatre productions.
With some of her spare time she loves to sew cute outfits for herself and participate in the South color guard. Karcher’s artsy background and willingness to listen to the news and her surroundings will prove to be a key addition to the Tower.
“I have always been an English oriented person,” Karcher said. “Being a part of Tower will give me a chance to learn how to write better and also just have so much fun with it.”
