FEAR OF MISSING OUT An aspect of social media that has seemed to increase the amount of usage of it is the amount of news and current events that are discussed on these apps. “It’s entirely possible for there to be a disconnect between people who aren’t on social media and those who are,” Parent said. “If you’re not on it, you’re missing out on a lot of memes and viral content, so I can imagine for people who aren’t on it, there can be a sense of distance or isolation.”

Chloe Polizzi ’23, Staff Writer

Chloe Polizzi ’23 is a third-year staff writer for The Tower. Becoming a member of the staff has helped her in ways that didn’t just enhance her writing ability, but encouraged her to branch out to students and adults as well.
“I really like that The Tower allows me to write about what I find interesting, rather than always receiving assigned subjects,” Polizzi said.
Outside of school, Polizzi can be spotted cheerleading for South’s Varsity football team as they crush it under the Friday night lights.
“Cheerleading is something I really enjoy, along with cooking and catching up on whatever the latest Netflix series is,” Polizzi said.
