Upcoming events in Detroit during the month of November

Turkey Trot:

The annual Turkey Trot will take place downtown on Thanksgiving Day. This race will start in take runners through the streets of downtown Detroit and finish on the riverwalk along the Cobo Center. There are several races to compete in including the mashed potato mile, a 5k run, and a 10k run. Registration for the run will include a festive tshirt and a participation medal.

Thanksgiving Day Parade:

This extravagant parade will take place on Thanksgiving day. Filled with floats of all shapes and sizes this parade is appropriate for all ages. The parade will feature musical guests along with a special appearance by Santa Claus. The parade will take place on Woodward Avenue. Campus Martius festively decorated for the holiday season.

Campus Martius Park:

The season to ice skate has begun. November 10th, Campus Martius Park will be open through March for ice skating. The weekend of November 10th is the annual Rink Preview Weekend that will start skating for the rest of the winter season. Campus Martius Park is appropriate for all ages. Skates can be rented on site. The ice rink will be open daily, but hours vary day to day. Beat the crowd and visit Campus Martius Park located in the center of downtown Detroit.

Fisher Theater

Throughout the month of November, the Color Purple will be showing at the Fisher Theater. This is a powerful and touching show based on the novel by Alice Walker. The Fisher Theater is located on West Grand Blvd. Tickets can be bought at the door of the showing at the box office or can be bought at https://www.broadwayindetroit.com/ along with a  list of showtimes.
