FEAR OF MISSING OUT An aspect of social media that has seemed to increase the amount of usage of it is the amount of news and current events that are discussed on these apps. “It’s entirely possible for there to be a disconnect between people who aren’t on social media and those who are,” Parent said. “If you’re not on it, you’re missing out on a lot of memes and viral content, so I can imagine for people who aren’t on it, there can be a sense of distance or isolation.”

Anamaria Garberding '23, Staff Writer

Anamaria Garberding ’23, is a staff writer this year for Tower Pulse and plays tennis for Grosse Pointe South. When she was eight years old, she moved to Italy due to her dad’s profession and attended an international school while staying there.
“The most difficult part about moving to Italy was having to learn a new language and culture,” she said.
Garberding enjoys many foods and loves spending time with her family, friends, and her white and grey cat, Leo. During the summer, Garberding has a cottage near a lake where she spends her time relaxing and swimming. A pet peeve of hers is when people chew with their mouths open.
