The Tower Pulse

She knew the practical reason she signed up for Tower: it would expose her to a new style of writing and push her out of her comfort zone. But ultimately, copy editor Madeline Kitchen ’24 joined for the community of students dedicated to a common goal. While she enjoys writing creatively outside of the classroom, Kitchen said she is excited for the transition to journalism because the process requires more collaboration than her independent work. “I enjoy writing fictional stories, but I am excited for (interacting) with other students because I’ve heard they are supportive and kind,” Kitchen said. “I like that people care on Tower.” Kitchen said The Tower will provide her with an outlet to explore topics she feels strongly about. Although she doesn’t know the specifics of those topics yet, she is excited to dig deeper and explore a multitude of viewpoints. “I am looking forward to developing and writing a story I’m passionate about,” Kitchen said. “I don’t what it will be on, but I will know it will come one day.”
