In the heart of Grosse Pointe, a new pilates studio has opened, providing the community with a fresh opportunity to enhance their well-being through movement. Located at 17000 Kercheval Ave, Suite 225, just above Trader Joe’s, 313 Pilates welcomed its first clients on Feb. 3, 2026.
Upon entering 313 Pilates, I was immediately struck by the studio’s calming atmosphere. The neutral color palette and warm wood floors created a soothing, inviting space. The instructors fostered a friendly and welcoming vibe, even offering refreshing drinks to energize participants before class began.
When I stepped into the workout space, I was immediately struck by how open and calming the room felt. The spacious layout allowed plenty of room to move freely, while the soft natural light and the same minimalist design from the lobby created a peaceful atmosphere. The mats were neatly arranged in two rows, each set with ankle and hand weights ready for use. At the back, reformers were lined up, prepared for Reformer Pilates classes that use them. I joined a heated Pilates Sculpt/HIIT class from 6 to 6:45 p.m., which was completely full with about 16 participants. My instructor, Lexi, brought an intense, motivating energy that quickly energized the whole class.
The class started with light stretching to prepare for the workout. I enjoyed this, but because the class was only 45 minutes, and the warm-up took almost 10 minutes, I felt like we were using up too much time. Throughout the class, Lexi would have us do different moves that would build on the move we did prior, making it more difficult and helping cause time under tension in your muscles for a longer period of time, which leads to muscle growth.
Overall, the workout felt a bit too easy for me, and I had hoped the room would be warmer, given it was a heated class. That said, my friends found the class challenging and really enjoyed it, showing how it can suit different fitness levels. They also offer a variety of classes to better suit each fitness level. I appreciated that Lexi checked in afterward, welcoming feedback and offering to increase the heat or modify the workout to better meet individual needs. The class was a great option for an active rest day, low impact with a quick recovery.
The class went by quickly, but there was an additional stretching segment afterward that extended the session by about 10 minutes. While I valued the extra stretching, it did make me a bit late for a commitment I had. It might be helpful if the studio clearly communicates any additional stretching time so participants can plan accordingly.
Overall, 313 Pilates offers a welcoming and versatile space for all fitness levels, with attentive instructors like Lexi who are open to feedback and eager to tailor the experience. With a few small adjustments, like clearer communication about class timing and room temperature, this studio has great potential to become a favorite in the Grosse Pointe community.
