While celebrating the musical’s 10-year anniversary, Lin-Manuel Miranda’s “Hamilton” has officially come from the Broadway stage all the way to our big screens, offering both longtime fans as well as new ones the opportunity to experience the show of “Hamilton.” This filmed version of the well-known play captures the energy and excitement that fans already know, while also adding a new layer to the experience.
As many have seen the original Hamilton live, now in theaters, it offers a chance to relive the magic with the ability to see everything that you may have missed in your regular Broadway seats. With original actors like Phillipa Soo, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Jonathan Groff, Anthony Ramos, Renee Elise Goldsberry, Leslie Odom Jr., Christopher Jackson, Daveed Diggs and many more, you are able to get the experience as if you are seeing it on a Broadway stage.
As many people never got to witness the record-breaking Hamilton in person, many fans are now able to get that excitement by just going to their local theater for a fraction of the price and the same amount of fun. Without the troubles of travel or maybe the price to see your favorite show, having our theaters share this amazing experience has opened up even a wider audience than before. With people singing in the theaters or just sitting there enjoying the show, it was exciting to see an interest shared among many.
Going into the theaters, I had always felt I was not a huge Hamilton fan. I never had much interest in going to see it or listening to the music, but after this adventure, I would have to say my opinion has changed. I, among many others, watched Hamilton for the first time in theaters, and I can confidently say that now I am a fan. Having this new way of viewing has brought in so many new watchers and created a new memory for fans wanting to watch again.
Ultimately, Hamilton is a piece of art that gets to be shared in so many ways for everyone. Whether you are a longtime fan and get to add this to your different versions of watching, or a new fan finally seeing what the show is all about, this experience is nothing short of amazing.
