Lilo and Stitch

On May 23, 2025, Disney is releasing the live-action version of their 2002 animated adventure hit “Lilo and Stitch”. The live-action version follows the same story as the original, with most of the original characters confirmed to be in the movie. The film takes place in Hawaii, where a little girl named Lilo (played by Maia Kealoha) befriends a mischievous alien on the run from his creators named Stitch (voiced by Chris Sanders). Lilo and her older sister Nani (Sydney Agudong) take Stitch in, they teach him the true meaning of family, while trying to hide from Lilo’s social worker, Cobra Bubbles (Courtney B. Vance), and Stitch’s creators, Pleakly (Billy Magnussen), Jumba (Zach Galifianakis), Grand Councilwoman of the Galactic Federation (Hannah Waddingham).
Elio

Disney is coming out with a new animated movie called, “Elio”. Elio (voiced by Yonas Kibreab) is the story of a young, alien-obsessed boy, who finds himself on an insane adventure when alien life forms mistake him for the leader of Earth, and start counting on him to navigate a massive intergalactic crisis. The film is set to come out on June 25, 2025, but the release date has been pushed back many times before, so critics are skeptical about whether or not Disney will follow through with this date. Recent Oscar winner Zoe Saldaña voices Elio’s aunt, Olga, along with America Ferrera.
Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning

After seven previous Mission Impossible movies, Tom Cruise is returning as Ethan Hunt for the eighth movie, Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning. Christopher McQuarrie, the director of the past two Mission Impossible films has also returned to direct the eighth movie. “The Final Reckoning” is a direct sequel to the seventh Mission Impossible movie- “Dead Reckoning Part One”. In “Dead Reckoning Part One”, Ethan Hunt and his team race to try and stop a dangerous AI called “The Entity”, from falling into the wrong hands, the film ends on a cliffhanger, leading to the sequel. “Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning” is set to hit theaters on May 23, 2025, with stars like Hayley Atwell and Pom Klementieff.
Friendship

Written and directed by Andrew DeYoung, “Friendship”, is an upcoming A24 movie starring Tim Robinson and Paul Rudd. “Friendship” is an R-rated comedy that follows the story of a suburban dad named Craig (Tim Robinson), who falls for and befriends his new neighbor, Austin (Paul Rudd). Craig is distraught when Austin decides to end the friendship with him, and it threatens to ruin both of their lives. “Friendship” is set to hit theaters on May 9, 2025, but has already premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 8, 2024, where the film received mostly positive reviews.
F1

“F1” is an R-rated Apple TV action movie, where Brad Pitt plays Sonny Hayes, a racing legend who is forced out of retirement to coach a new Formula One driver and his struggling team, all while chasing one last shot at glory. The film also features stars like Ashley Simone and Damson Idris, with music by Hans Zimmer. Although “F1” is a fictional story, Apple TV recruited current champions of Formula One racing, like Lewis Hamilton, to assist in the production and make the movie more accurate to the racing world. They also worked with analysts and engineers. Apple TV took to social media and described it as “the most authentic racing movie ever made”. The movie was directed by Joseph Kosinski and will debut in theaters on June 27, 2025.
