The 2020 elections will be a testament to America’s values

The race for the 2020 Democratic Primary is well under way. Currently, there are 23 democrats contending for the nomination, only 13 of which hold any percentage at all in the RCP poll average. The front-runners of those 13 include: Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, Robert O’Rourke, Cory Booker and Amy Klobuchar.

In this pool of candidates we see a majority of them supporting more radical policies like Universal Health Care, Free Tuition for College, Reparations for Black people, and others. All these policies are part of a more socialist ideal.

As we have seen ever since President Trump was elected, Democrats have taken a turn toward a more radical agenda, by supporting many socialist ideals and electing several more self-proclaimed socialists to Congress.

According to recent a Gallup poll, 54 percent of Democrats want a more moderate party. Trump’s approval rating is much higher than Obama’s was at the same time in his presidency, despite Trump being slandered and libeled constantly by people all the time, and having almost all aspects of popular culture rigged against him.

With these things in mind, the Democrats don’t have a chance against Trump if they don’t put their personal vendettas against him aside and start talking about serious issues that their more moderate majority cares about. While Trump is achieving historic economic achievement in so many different aspects, by deregulating and creating a more free market, the Democrats are talking about free healthcare and college, which are unrealistic and intangible policies. They need to get back to a more moderate agenda to satisfy their majority voter base.

Joe Biden is considered to be the most moderate Democrat running, and is also the front-runner in the polls by a wide margin. There is a reason for this, and it is an indicator that most Democrats fall more towards the middle of the political spectrum than their leaders would like to believe. The mainstream media and popular culture in our country paint a false picture of what Americans truly stand for and I think the 2020 election will be a testament to what Americans’ values really are.

If Democrats elect a more radical candidate to face Trump in the general election, it is going to end up being a decision of values. President Trump stands for fundamental American values and most importantly free market capitalism. Many of the possible democratic candidates stand for socialism and other policies that are historically un-American. People will be left with the decision between two polar opposite views on government. They will have to choose between the values our country was founded on, or a form of Marxism that has failed in every country in which it has been implemented.

If America votes its values, freedom and the republic will prevail. People who believe in freedom will not succumb to a party that promotes un-American ideals that go against everything this country was created for. If Democrats continue with their agenda, the 2020 election will be a replay of Ronald Reagan’s re-election in 1984.
