FEAR OF MISSING OUT An aspect of social media that has seemed to increase the amount of usage of it is the amount of news and current events that are discussed on these apps. “It’s entirely possible for there to be a disconnect between people who aren’t on social media and those who are,” Parent said. “If you’re not on it, you’re missing out on a lot of memes and viral content, so I can imagine for people who aren’t on it, there can be a sense of distance or isolation.”

Caroline Peabody '22, Staff Writer

Caroline Peabody ‘22 is a third year staff writer for the Tower. One of her favorite things to do in her free time is hangout with friends, she also loves to draw. What Caroline likes most about Tower is having a flexible work schedule and getting to meet new people. This school year she is looking forward to returning back to a normal schedule and enjoying her last moments here at South. Her biggest challenge this school year will be not having the same freedom that she had over the summer. After high school Caroline wants to have a career in media, which she believes she would really enjoy, “A lot of the classes I’ve been taking throughout highschool and my experience making graphics in Tower will help me pursue that,” Peabody said.
