Christmas break is around the corner, and with it South’s spirit week. Students have the opportunity to go out and show their holiday festivity. The participation is encouraged amongst the students because it is something fun to engage in before the holiday
Each class and Student Government picks out a theme, with the seniors getting priority, followed by Student Government, then juniors, then sophomores and then freshmen. Lucas Curtis ’27 and the Student Association have taken time to organize the event in hopes that each student will show their holiday spirit.
“The students should pay attention to the schoology posts,” Curtis said. “The week includes Monday: pajama day, Tuesday: puffer jacket vs. flannel day, Wednesday: ugly sweater day, Thursday: dress like a candy cane day [red and white], Friday: Santa vs. Grinch [red vs. green].”
Throughout the years, participation in these spirit days has decreased. The Student Government encourages students to put their best effort into their holiday spirit.
“Students should be excited to participate in this because we don’t have many spirit weeks and it’s an opportunity to dress up as something fun that you wouldn’t normally dress up as,” Curtis said.
