After eight years working for the Grosse Pointe Public School System (GPPSS), Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Technology Chris Stanley is leaving his job, as he has taken another position outside of the district.
“While I am excited for this next chapter, it is certainly bittersweet to leave a place that has meant so much to me,” Stanley said in an email sent to GPPSS staff on Monday, April 28.
In the email, Stanley wanted to stress how proud he is of the work he and his colleagues have accomplished throughout his time with the district, along with how much he respects the district as a whole. Stanley is and will continue to live in Grosse Pointe, with his children continuing to attend GPPSS schools.
“We have accomplished incredible things together,” Stanley said in the April 28 email. “I am grateful not just as a colleague, but as a parent. It has truly been an honor to be a part of GPPSS.”
According to his email, Stanley will continue to work for the district for another month following his announcement, and is dedicated to “making this transition as smooth as possible.”
