As the class of 2025 heads towards graduation, the main goal of their grade, fundraising, comes to an end. With the past four years of events taken care of by our hard-working student council, the events planned are passed down to newer classes to help guide them in the right direction of financial decision-making. With these past four years spent planning for prom and more, the class of 2025 will spread their wisdom.
Class of 2025 advisor, Mrs. Caralis has been working with the seniors their whole high school career, helping with planning events, raising money and fundraising for their class. With her advising coming to an end, Caralis is taking on the new advisor leadership of the class of 2029. Hoping to reuse some fundraising ideas, but also come up with some fresh ideas for the future.
“A lot of times we tend to hold onto fundraisers past classes did, when I take on the class of 2029 we will be using similar events, like the egg hunt which was a big success in recent years,” Caralis said. “To help this freshman class get some ideas of fundraising and what to do, my seniors decided to do the parent teacher along with the freshman class, to help guide them and show them what to do.”
Class of 2028 student Wells Webber ‘28, hopes to get more involved with her grades council as she hopes to voice an opinion for her grades’ upcoming homecoming and prom events. As a freshman, she thinks that opinions matter in the council, and having many students in this club can help create fundraisers that kids will be motivated to come to.
“I think by getting involved in the student council I can help spread the word about upcoming events,” Webber said. “With events being passed down from the class of 2025 it will help us keep some old things as well as introduce new ideas to our student council.”
“We really wanna raise the most money we can for our grade, as we wanna start planning for future events sooner than later,” Stevenson said. “The class council and I all have been brainstorming ideas for us to raise money, and we have been doing a really good job. I think we are on the right track so far and I’m excited for all the upcoming events we have planned out.”
Class of 2025 Vice President, Brigid Williams ‘25, has been fundraising for the last four years coming up with ideas to pass down to the grade below. With the help of her class council and Caralis, they have come up with some brilliant ideas and raised plenty of money for their grade. These events will be passed down to many more grades.
“We discuss a range of ideas as a council and we research each of them. Once ideas and details have been pitched, we vote on the fundraiser we think will be most successful,” Williams said. “We are passing the parent’s night out to the class of 2028, which has been one of our best fundraisers, along with the egg hunt.”
