Halftime moves

South lost by 13 points to North in the Unified Basketball game with the final score being 54 to 41. Throughout the game, both South and North had their winning and losing moments. Each player stayed very positive and helped one another to not only win but have fun. By halftime, North was winning by nine but that didn’t stop Ian Krieger ’24 from showing his moves at halftime.

“I really liked showing everyone my dance moves,” Krieger said.

Everyone loved Kriegar’s attitude and although the rivalry between North and South was a big deal, it did not keep anyone from cheering. During the third quarter, South started to catch up with North ending the quarter winning by two points. Thomas Haggarty ’25 was very happy with the outcome of these three quarters. He stood still covering his mouth in shock after a point was scored for South.

“I was really happy that we were winning because it felt really good,” Haggarty said.

In the fourth quarter both teams were scoring and with three minutes left the teams were tied. Within those last three minutes, there was a roller coaster of emotion. Lyla Hampton ’26 watched this game and found it very interesting and fun.

“I really enjoyed watching the game and seeing the smiles on not only the players but everyone else in the gym,” Hampton said.

Both North and South teams had a positive outlook on the results of the game and all that really mattered to the teams was the fun they had playing.

“Being able to see the teams so happy made me happy,” Hampton said.
