Artists on stage presence is reflective of the attendees of the show

Eleven times over the past two years, I have found myself jamming out to music, dressing up and hearing my favorite artists live. This concert experiences can’t be found anywhere else. From Jimmy Buffet to Harry Styles, each concert offered a new experience; each one well worth the time and money spent on it.One of my first big concerts was with my best friend seeing Pitbull at Pine Knob during the summer. This concert kickstarted my love for seeing artists perform in-person, so much so that I went back to see Mr. Worldwide again the next year.

Purley energetic and comforting, the atmosphere at live concerts is one of the greatest things you can experience. Not often do you get to be surrounded by people who all love and are excited for the same thing. Each artist’s show brings a different crowd, but each one has one thing in common: attendees who love them. Knowing that you and the stranger next to you share a common love is a beautiful idea that can’t be found in many places. Concerts are not only improved by the crowd, but also by the live performance itself. Hearing my favorite songs from my phone is wonderful, but nothing can compare to hearing them live. Nothing can replicate the sound of thousands of roaring fans, insturments, and singers belting out atheir favourite songs.

Each artist has their own way of performing of concert which allows concertgoers to learn more about the person you are seeing perform. One of my favorite concerts ever attended was The Lumineers. They performed for two and a half hours straight, playing their biggest hits and some lesser known ones. Their onstage talent was remarkable to see.

Not all concerts are made great by the singing however. I saw Harry Styles and what made the concert wasn’t his singing, despite how great it was. His stage presence, the anticipation and the crowd’s overwhelming feeling of love made his concert phenomenal. It is understandable how many people do not think it would be worth the money and time to see their favorite artist perform live, especially in the new era of online streaming and videos of concerts going viral. However, during lockdown I streamed many digital concerts and nothing compars to seeing it in real life.
