FEAR OF MISSING OUT An aspect of social media that has seemed to increase the amount of usage of it is the amount of news and current events that are discussed on these apps. “It’s entirely possible for there to be a disconnect between people who aren’t on social media and those who are,” Parent said. “If you’re not on it, you’re missing out on a lot of memes and viral content, so I can imagine for people who aren’t on it, there can be a sense of distance or isolation.”

Olivia Walz is a senior this year and the graphic designer advisor and director Tower. Walz was originally born in Shanghai, China. She was adopted by her parents when she was only 4 years old. In her free time, Walz likes to hang out with her friends and her shitzu dog, Max. Walz enjoys asian style food such as bao buns and ramen noodles. If Walz could live in any place in the world, she would pick Paris or somewhere in Spain for their food. One area Walz takes interest in is Greek Mythology. When asked her favorite Greek god, she responded with Artemis.
