Ben Golabek ’26, an avid football fan, watcher and player, is ready to bring his dedication from doing what he loves into a new field, journalism. As a first year staff writer, Golabek is tackling the challenges that come with being a great journalist, motivated by the obstacles that other journalists take for their careers.

“I’m really inspired by journalists around the world,” Golabek said. “I think it’s really impressive what they do, putting themselves in harm’s way to get the story.”

Growing up in Brooklyn, just a 20 minute drive away from Manhattan, Golabek was practically in a news heaven. While in the city and even now, he still keeps up with the local top stories. Now being a resident of Grosse Pointe, he is continuing to get involved.

“I’d like to be a part of that journalism world even if it’s just somewhere like Grosse Pointe South, or our local community.” Golabek said.
