The girls varsity gymnastics team will be competing in the regional meet this Saturday, March 1 at 10 a.m. at Plymouth High School.

Only 12 regional qualifying teams will participate at this meet in a series of rotations of four events (bars, beam, vault and floor exercise).

“Our ultimate goal for the regional meet is always to make it to the team states meet,” Kelsey Newa ‘14 said.  “We have had an incredible season thus far and actually broke the school record, so we are just shooting to maintain that consistency.”

The team is ranked 4th in the state and hopes to continue their success.  After the meet has ended, there is an awards ceremony in which the results are announced.

“All of our all-around gymnasts have received medals at tournaments throughout the season, so they are all serious contenders,” Newa said.
