A bitter 0-0 tie against Lakeview frustrates the Grosse Pointe South soccer team.

The score of the game did not fairly display the dominance of the team against Lakeview. This could be seen on the frustrated faces of the team as they walked to the locker room after the 80 minutes were finished.

With 15 shots to the opposing 1 shot on net, it was hard to walk off the field with a 0-0 tie.

“It’s hard when you outplay a team, and you only get one point to show for it,” said Head Coach Stefan Harris.

“We dominated the whole game, but we just need to finish and put the ball in the back of the net,” said Captain Andrew Cornwall ’14.

Another positive about the game was how well the defense kept its composure throughout the entire game.

“Our defensive game was solid, holding a team to zero is always a good thing. We did have a few breakdowns defensively, but we can work on it and improve for our next game,” said Captain Murray Sales ’14.

Upcoming in the week on Wednesday, is a match against rival Grosse Pointe North. The team has been preparing and has its expectations.

“Our expectation is that we have to contain them. They are a good team that can pull off an upset, so we have to come into the game focused and prepared,” Captain Robert Durand ’15.

Even though the game ended in an undeserving tie, the team can take the positives and push on to the next game to come out with a victory against North.
