Local haunted houses offer variety of attractions

Erebus 4-Story Haunted House Attraction

Erebus is a thrilling and exhilarating 4 story-haunted house. It has been in the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest haunted house in the world. The exhibit is based off of a doctor who has invented a time traveling machine to open up different portals. The glitch in the system is that he needs more and more people for him to experiment on in the problematic time machine. Erebus is 30,000 square  feet and holds over 700 actors. The haunted house is open now on weekdays for $23 and on Friday and Saturday for $28.

The Haunted House of Wiards Orchards takes visitors through a haunted course of terror. The Ultimate Haunted Barn, the Asylum, the Mineshaft, Hayrides of the Lost, the Labyrinth and Alien Caged Clowns all are shocking. To visit one of these attractions the admission is $17 but for all of the attractions you can buy a package deal for $35. Wiards Orchard also includes a bakery with cider, donuts and caramel apples available for a late night snack. The orchard has reserved a place for live music, Scareyoke, for a break from the terrors of the park.

St. Lucifer’s Haunted Asylum

St. Lucifer’s Haunted Asylum was an asylum that opened in the early 1900’s and was shut down in 1974. There were 12,000 patients and 700 staff members. There have been rumors of nurses going insane and patients running away into underground tunnels. The asylum is now an open attraction for those who dare to enter the old haunted rooms of the insane. The exhibit will be $15 to enter on whichever day visitors choose.

Haunted Farm of Terror

This Haunted Farm of Terror is a 20 acre piece of land to witness the living dead. The haunted farm includes: Zombie Paintball, a haunted hayride, and a petrifying corn maze. For a break from the haunting there is cider, donuts, and their famous taco in a bag treats available for purchase. There also will be a 30 foot projector showing only the scariest movies. Tickets are $22 for adults and $18 for children under ten.  The package deal is for 20+ people and they’re $18 for adults and $12 for children under ten.

This haunted house is also named as the, “Scream Park,” due to its maniac maze, haunted hayrides, and large haunted house. All the ticket money is donated to local charities. A big portion of the money went to more than 80 not-for-profit organizations such as Boy and Girl Scouts groups, church youth groups and booster clubs for colleges and high schools. The Niles Haunted House charges $11 for just the Haunted House, but other attractions are a additional $6 like the Ghostly Gallows and Memory Manor. For the all three attractions its $23 and all three plus the haunted hayride is $27.
