Winning all of the flights but one, the girls’ varsity tennis team won Regionals in a dominating fashion on May 15, with a total of 31 points.
South was in the finals in every flight against Troy, who placed second with 24 points.
“It felt great to win regionals and having my team there to support me for the whole time,” said Raven Neely ’16.
Neely said that winning states has been the goal for the team the whole season and that she knows the team will behind each other.
“Going into states we know that if the whole team performs to their full potential we can win,” said Maggie Sweeney ‘15. “But we can’t go into states thinking that the tournament is in the bag because it is anyone’s to win.
South is undefeated this season and is ranked first in the state going into the state finals that are Friday and Saturday, May 30-31.
