Boys Lacrosse extended their win streak to eight by defeating L’Anse Creuse North 10-7, on April 29.

Starting out the game South came out with a slow tempo on offense, leading to a lack of goals, as well as a surprising 3-3 tie at halftime. South had many chances but did not capitalize.

“We came out with more intensity and really focused on capitalizing on our chances,” said Jerry Coyle ‘15.

In the second half, South not only had a different mental mindset but they also came out with a high pace tempo. In just the first two minutes alone, the Blue Devils had netted two goals, which were just nine seconds apart.

“Everyone played fantastic,” said Chase Urbach ‘15. “The team had a very well rounded effort, the offense was scoring and the defense played their assignments very well.”

The team would go on to outscore LCN 5-2 in the third quarter and lead 8-5 headed into the final quarter. In the fourth, South’s strategy would be simply to control the ball and control the clock.

South would do just this, defeating L’Anse Creuse North 10-7 and extending their win streak to eight games.

Mac Carroll ‘15 completed his second hat-trick in the last three games and has eight goals over this time.

“The looks have been there all season, I just have been missing them,” said Carroll. “The last three games I just have been taking advantage of those looks. We are getting the ball to the open man on offense and really starting to work together well on defense.”

The team looks to extend their win streak as they play at Utica Eisenhower on Thursday, May 1, at 7 pm.

“Ike is a very good team,” said Chase Urbach ‘15. “They are undefeated and it would make a huge statement if we beat them. We can not look past them, we need to come out on Thursday hyped out and ready to take it to them.”
