The Tower had the opportunity to go on a private tour of the New York Times (NYT). Wortman and Walsh are seen holding a copy of the NYT, which they had been given by Steve Kenny, a senior editor and tour guide at the NYT. On this tour, The Tower learned about the ins and outs of how such a large publication as the NYT runs not just nationally but also globally, 24/7.

Track: Since the track team does not make cuts, it is the biggest sports team at South.. There is optional conditioning for the boys March 9-11, and then the season starts the following week on March 13. Despite being a non-cut, there is a varsity and junior varsity team that is dependent on the performance of the athletes.

Millie Gates '24, Staff Writer

After a summer in the sun at the community pool, Millie Gates ‘24 is excited to get back into the game as a student council member and first-year staff writer for the Tower.
Gates swims competitively and is a page editor this year on The Tower Pulse. Gates is eager to experience so many great learning experiences this year, as well as meet new people and grow as a person.
“I’m really excited to get creative with how I choose to design the pages and see what I can bring to The Tower,” Gates said.
Gates is so eager for everything that Tower has to offer and getting the opportunity to work in a new environment.
