After less than two years working as principal of Grosse Pointe North High School, Sara Delgado has been approved by the Grosse Pointe Public School System Board of Education to leave and assume the position of executive director of teaching and learning. Delgado was hired in a 7-0 vote during the BOE meeting on Monday, April 14 and will begin as Director on July 1.
“I wholeheartedly support Dr. Delgado for the curriculum director [position],” Board President Colleen Worden said at the April 14 meeting. “I don’t think anyone in our district could better fill this role.”
Delgado is going on 23 years in education, working in GPPSS since 2007. She has previously worked as principal of Kirby Elementary School as well as Parcells Middle School. This resume has built support for her within the whole Board of Education along with her coworkers.
“I don’t think that anybody knows our curriculum better than Dr. Delgado,” Worden said. “She will be a wonderful addition to Dr. Tuttle’s team.”
