Lyla Hampton ’26 started playing lacrosse in 6th grade, her inspiration stems from her father’s career and love for lacrosse. Over her freshman and sophomore year she managed to get 100 goals, to her these goals don’t mean much to her but it does show her hard work towards lacrosse. Hampton plays lacrosse year round, when she is not playing for the Blue Devils she plays for a club team, triumph. She stays active by practicing and plays wall ball a couple times a week. To Lyla her team is more than just a team.
“My team to me is the people that help everyone to succeed and win, even when some of my teammates are having a bad day the rest of the team tries to cheer them up, because we all need each other on the field,” Hampton said.
Hampton’s love for lacrosse grew over the years as she played more and more. She loves it so much and it is something that she looks forward to everyday. Her positive attitude, motivation and 100 goals in lacrosse proves that hard work pays off. To her, lacrosse is something that she never gets tired or sick of, she is determined to give her best at every practice and game.
“Lacrosse has given me so many opportunities, I’ve learned so much from my teammates and coaches. I love meeting new people at tournaments and games.” Hampton.
