The sun, moon, planets and stars will soon be in the field of view for Astronomy Club.
The club has weekly meetings on Thursday mornings in Mr. Hernandez’s room, room 274, according to Astronomy Club historian Rachel Flower ’20.
“Last week we had a hot chocolate sale and we raised around $50 for the club,” Flower said. “We are planning to use that money to fund t-shirts for the club or take a field trip to the planetarium.”
According to Flower, the club plans to have more bake sales in the future. Currently, they are focused on planning a trip to the planetarium.
“Eventually, we will go to the planetarium, but logistics are still being figured out, Flower said. “We are leaning toward the Grosse Pointe North planetarium because the trip would have no cost.”
Flower welcomes other students who are interested in astronomy to join their Thursday morning meetings and their field trip to the planetarium.
“Astronomy Club is super chill and fun,” Flower said. “It’s a small group, but everyone is really nice. We are all open to new members of the club.”
