Q: When did you start playing soccer?

A:When I was probably like three or four years old- really early.

Q: So you’ve been playing for how many years now?

A: Around 12 or 13 years.

Q: What got you interested in playing for South?

A: I love soccer, and it’s also very fun representing my school… I love it at this point, I love the coach, the great brotherhood with the team. I love winning when we do, and just representing our school.

Q: Ok. so how do you prepare for your games? Do you have any special rituals that you do before you play?

A: Not really. I just listen to music, try to get hype. I’ve eaten the same thing before every game since I was in eighth grade, just PB and J and I drink water. Just that, nothing big.

Q: Have you faced any big challenges in your soccer career? Have you had any big injuries or have trouble balancing school with soccer?

A: It’s hard balancing with school, obviously. We practice at every single night. At away games we usually are gone for about four or five hours so it’s hard getting homework done sometimes but I’ve been able to manage it. I have not had any big injuries, luckily.

Q: Ok. and what are your goals for the future of your soccer career? Do you want to play college?

A: I don’t know yet. I’m not sure if I would like to play college or not; it just depends on what opportunities I get and what I want to do, and where I want to go.

Q: Would you have any advice to anybody who wants to get better, like an aspiring varsity soccer player?

A: Work hard; come to everything in the summer when we do have offseason stuff. Try and make a connection with one of our captains, and just come to everything and keep trying. The more you show up, the better chance you have of making (the team).
