Second year copy editor Matthew Hamilton ’26 is excited to follow in his elder brother and sister’s footsteps by carrying on their legacy as the third Hamilton sibling to write for Tower. Hamilton hopes an exemplary performance on staff will up his odds of getting into a top tier university so he can be just like Katie and Mike.

“They both are definitely successful and they’re both at MSU right now and enjoying it,” Hamilton said. “I’m kind of trying to reach that goal of finding the college and career I’d like.”

An avid football fan and member of the South tennis team, Hamilton is well-versed in sports terminology and just about every stat of every quarterback for every team in the NFL. Call him a walking encyclopedia of playbooks. Doubters who test his knowledge with an arbitrary question can expect to be humbled. He even wears Detroit Lions kicks.

“I enjoy watching a ton of football all the time,” Hamilton said. “That’s why I normally write all the sports stories.”
