New this year, Souths Golf Club has started up with the goals of expanding the game of golf and getting as many kids involved as possible. Driven by a love for the game and wanting to make golf at South more inclusive, the club was started by Luca Parlangeli and Lucas Bower, both ‘25.
“Pretty much anyone in the school who wants to play is invited and we encourage all skill levels to come play,” Parlangeli said.
Already hosting a charity event, the club was able to raise money with all profits going to Kids on the Go.
“It was one of our main goals to host a charity event and we did, so our second goal is to have another one in the spring,” Parlangeli said.
From a leadership position, the club is a great way for kids to grow their skills and be more involved and when approached with the idea, club advisor Troy Glasser saw exactly that.
“I think it’s good these kids are getting involved,” Glasser said. “It’s a way for them to grow, get better, and have some leadership and organizational skills.”
