Step into Pearl, a beautiful new luxury clothing store and boutique. Offering personal shopping and alterations, this small business is ready to show Grosse Pointe what it has to offer.
Located on The Hill, Pearl opened to the public on Sept. 6. This premier women’s clothing store includes high end brands like Tom Ford and SPANX. The store also showcases monthly pop-ups from local stores and bigger businesses- the month of September being Sterr & Doon, a men’s luxury goods company. The store designates a space where these exhibitions are located.
“We have local vendors and bigger trunk shows coming,” store manager Gigi Badalamenti said. “It gives customers something new and exciting to look at every month.”
Pearl showcases popular lines from the previous store, Capricious, but also provides a new modern look. The store dresses young and old generations and is a one-stop shop for clothes, accessories, shoes, and undergarments. Staffed with experienced salespeople, Pearl prides themselves on customer service.
“When you come here, you will get the best service ever,” Badalamenti said. “Staff has been here for years and that’s very hard to come by.”
Pearl is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., allowing walk-in alterations on Tuesdays and by-appointment Fridays and Saturdays. Their personal shopping is by appointment only and takes place after the store closes, perfect for small parties and get-togethers. It’s a few hours of fun with friends, where the staff appoints all their attention to finding you a perfect outfit.
“You can bring your friends and we will have a little party, designating all of our time to you and your friends,” Badalamenti said.
Sandy Borg, a local Grosse Pointer, was a customer of Capricious and is happy to see that some of the brands that she had previously seen are still available at Pearl. She notes the new beauty of the store and how the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful.
“Pearl speaks to the quiet luxury that Grosse Pointers like,” Borg said. “They have a great variety and I like to support a small local business, so I hope that others will stop in.”
