Avery Harris ’24 has benefited from the hands-on activities she does in English teacher Troy Henandez’s class, making him her favorite teacher she has had.
“I felt like in this class I have learned throughout the whole year, a lot more than I have in other classes,” Harris said. “I've gotten to experience and actually build on things and it's overall helped me to learn.”

Viviana Ostrowski ’26, Copy Editor
Vivi Ostrowski ‘26 has perfected the school-extracurricular blend. In her second year as a Copy Editor, Ostrowski makes sure she has time for physical activities along with journalism. Working out has been a focus of hers for years, and she is constantly around her friends. Along with physical activity, English has always been a passion of hers.
“I’ve always been interested in writing,” Ostrowski said. “It’s always been a big focus of mine.
Along with writing, Ostrowski plays softball and runs cross-country. Ostrowski has used her extracurricular participation to continue to have an outgoing social life and meet people.
“I have more fun playing softball,” Ostrowski said. “There’s so much involved in the game.”
But above all, Ostrowski is passionate. Passionate about her studies, passionate about sports, and passionate about staying social in the South community.
“I’m really glad I’m doing sports along with academics,” Ostrowski said. “It makes me more involved in things around the school.”
