The best Netflix shows to binge-watch
January 3, 2018
The Crown
With two seasons ready to binge on Netflix, “The Crown” is the perfect show to watch this winter. It chronicles Queen Elizabeth II’s, played by Claire Foy, rise to power and her relationship with her family, as well as her several political figures, one being Winston Churchill, who is portrayed by John Lithgow. The show also stars Matt Smith, Vanessa Kirby, and Victoria Hamilton.
Jane the Virgin
The CW’s hit telenovela “Jane the Virgin” is a binge-worthy winter show. It follows a young woman, Jane, whose life is turned upside down after an accidental artificial insemination leaves her blindsided by motherhood. Starring Gina Rodriguez, Justin Baldoni, Yael Grobglas, Jaime Camil and Andrea Navedo, “Jane the Virgin” is a must-see.
Friends
It’s a rewatchable classic that is perfect to binge this winter. Following six friends living in New York City, the show features Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer. Whether you’ve seen each episode a hundred times or haven’t watched it at all, “Friends” will always be there for you.
The Office
Binge this hilarious mockumentary show this winter before its rumored (fingers crossed) 2018 revival. Starring Steve Carrell, John Krasinski, Rainn Wilson and Jenna Fischer, each episode is guaranteed to make you laugh, even if you’ve seen it a hundred times before.
Once Upon A Time
Featuring all your favorite fairy tale characters, “Once Upon A Time” has six seasons ready to watch on Netflix. Showing the crossover between the real world and a fairy tale land, and starring favorites like Ginnifer Goodwin, Lana Parrilla, Josh Dallas and Jennifer Morrison, this show’s plot twists will keep you hooked.
Parks and Recreation
Basically “The Office” but with Amy Poehler instead of Steve Carrell as the witty leader. All seven seasons are available to watch on Netflix, and as a bonus, the show also stars Chris Pratt, Aziz Ansari, and Rashida Jones.
Anne With An E
Based on L.M. Montgomery’s classic “Anne of Green Gables” book series, Netflix’s take on the novels has its first season available to watch now, and season two is on the way. The show begins with an orphan girl being accidentally adopted by an elderly brother and sister in Canada. Starring new talent Amybeth McNulty as the title character, as well as featuring Lucas J. Zumann and Geraldine James, “Anne With An E” is not to be missed.
Stranger Things
It’s one of the most talked about shows of the year, and its first two seasons are available to stream on Netflix. Starring Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Finn Wolfhard and Winona Ryder, “Stranger Things” follows the chain of events that follow a young boy’s disappearance.
