For many families, the closing of Trombly Elementary in 2019 felt detrimental. “When hearing the news (Trombly’s closing), I remember being really sad that our school is going to close,” Crawford said. “We met so many great friends and so many amazing families. We had this beautiful, little, small community school and moving to Defer felt like a total switch. We didn't want it to be our school.”
