Feminism has been a long driving force of social change. Every day, you see the impacts of this evolving movement around you. Women are no longer scared to speak out about things that have happened to them or the things that they have experienced in their everyday lives. We constantly see women speaking out about their rights and what they believe in and what they don’t.
One of the bigger things we see is women continuing to challenge stereotypical gender roles. This movement has contributed to a society where women have more freedom to express themselves outside traditional gender expectations. Women now work jobs that men would have traditionally worked, such as firefighting and police work. We have more opportunities in leadership roles, education and professional careers. Women are no longer limited to being nurses or teachers like they would’ve been 40 years ago. They don’t wear big poofy dresses and pink all the time either. Jeans, which were traditionally male, have become a part of our everyday wardrobe.
Another big thing is “my body, my choice.” Feminism has helped women take control over their own bodies by advocating for reproductive rights, including access to contraception, abortion, and comprehensive sex education. They also now have the power to speak up if something has happened to them, and they have choices about the steps they can take and what they can do about it.
There is a constant fight over abortion. Men, for the most part, cannot choose what women can do with their own bodies. They have a voice and are finally able to speak up and use it. This empowers women to make informed decisions about their bodies and their futures.
This movement has also helped all women and young girls be able to become educated in many different fields and aspects of things. They can now choose what they want to do and how much schooling they want to go through for it. They can be educated in anything a man can become educated in as long as they put their minds to it.
The Feminism movement has helped women come together as one stronger than ever. This has led to a broader, more inclusive movement that advocates for all women, not just some. Every day this movement contributes to a society where people have more freedom to express themselves outside traditional gender expectations.
