As states approach for the Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) club at Grosse Pointe South, the team is gearing up for the competition putting their business minded thinking to the test. The DECA club, where students can practice different scenarios in terms of business like, marketing, finance and many more topics, covers all essential life skills for students.
Student club leader Adelina Parikh ’25 has moved on to states and is ready to give it her all. As this being her fourth year on the team, she hopes to make every DECA member’s goal to give it everything at the International Career Development Conference international competition. The team will put in hard work to try their hardest at states.
“To get to the state level from the region, we work hard to prepare 23 individual events so as to have a shot to qualify for states we need to be strongly competitive in all of them,” Parikh said.
With much practice, the team is ready to use their skills and knowledge to achieve success. The DECA team will head out to Detroit and work together in the business community.
“States is held in Detroit, Michigan, the team will head out Thursday night, then compete all day Saturday before heading home,” Parikh said.
