Year after year, The Lady Devils, a large group of South’s female population, meet to discuss various high school experiences and participate in activities. While the group has many influential meetings, some have noticed that meetings tend to begin later in the year, around the second semester. Last year South Librarian and club advisor Courtney Johnson pushed to begin meetings sooner.
“[Lady Devils] has always started later because of how busy the beginning of the year is for teachers and students,” Johnson said. “There’s so many things we do that are really valuable skills to have, or just important, comforting, information to hear. I think it’s a great thing to do, so why not start it sooner?”
With Johnson’s small initiative, students will hopefully see earlier Lady Devils meetings in the years to come.
