152 shows. 51 stops. Millions of attendees worldwide. The Eras Tour has been going on since March of 2023. Now it is set to wrap up with its final show in Vancouver, Canada on Dec. 8.
Since its start, Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour has generated billions of dollars, raised the Gross Domestic Product in the cities where it has visited, and touched the lives of millions of Swifties with its three-and-a-half dazzling hours of performance. Now, it is time for it to wrap up after almost two years.
“It went on for a super long time and nobody ever does something like it, where she puts all of her albums into a single concert.” Naya Azoury ’25 said. “I think that will go down in history.”
The Eras Tour is unique to any other tour, according to Azoury, who attended multiple shows. It is more than a concert, affecting people as well as the cities where it visits.
”Everyone comes together.” Azoury said. “She even talks about it in the concert, how everyone does these traditions like chants and making bracelets and I think it’s more than just watching somebody sing.”
Andia Nazarko ’26 shares a similar sentiment about the effects of Swift’s tour on people’s lives after she attended one of the Detroit shows last year.
“It was a really big deal when the Eras Tour came to Detroit. Everything was shut off because Taylor Swift was coming.” Nazarko said. “Her music has really connected to people, so when they experience it live, it’s really special.”
With Swift’s fast-paced career and dedication to making music, fans are naturally wondering what comes next. Azoury and Nazarko both hope for the announcement of reputation (Taylor’s Version) shortly. Grace Geresy ’27 agrees.
“I get that she has to stop,” Geresy said. “I’m excited for a new album to come out or if reputation (Taylor’s Version) is announced.”
Like many other fans, Geresy was unable to secure the highly coveted tickets. Instead, she followed the tour in other ways.
“I’ve followed all of the Instagram accounts and made friendship bracelets,” Geresy said. “I’m really sad that it is ending and I didn’t get to see it.”
Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour will go down in history as the highest-grossing tour so far.
It has touched the lives of millions and spread joy and community, changing the way concerts will be done in the future.
“It’s not just a concert,” Geresy said. “It’s a whole experience.”
