Reopening in 2025, Top Thrill 2 at Cedar Point will be back and better than ever. Cedar Point’s website refers to it as “the world’s tallest and fastest triple-launch strata coaster,” building fans’ excitement for summer.
The roller coaster shoots you three times forward and backward, up and around the coaster, the third time reaching a speed of 120 mph as it brings you to the finish line, making it feel as if you’re racing.
“I’m excited because Cedar Point has a lot of fun rides, and to expand the amount of rides that they have is fun and cool,” Courtney Cowen ’25 said.
The manufacturer, Zamperla, has been working to make some modifications. While Cedar Point is disappointed, they are making sure safety is the top priority.
“It makes me feel like they care more about customers than money,” Cowen said. “I love that because a lot of theme parks are very greedy and Cedar Point is able to put their greed aside for the safety of the public.”
