South’s annual All-Night Party is an event that students look forward to attending once they reach the end of their high school career. Unlike most school-related events, this one is organized and funded by the graduating class parents and the community. Giving those parents the imaginative freedom to create and give each senior a fun, final send-off.
Colleen Jogan is one of the hardworking parents who is co-hosting the evening’s festivities with Jessica Bryan. They added that they like to stick with things that kids enjoy throughout the years, such as the hypnotist, while still incorporating new activities based on what they think they will take part in.
“This is the first time I have hosted,” Jogan said. “I have heard kids from past years say good things about the hypnotist, the food and the casino.”
Jogan also mentioned that among the new attractions, there is going to be a mechanical bull and a silent disco.
“Because of their popularity, we are of course bringing back the hypnotists, escape room, caricaturists, airbrush tattoo artists and the casino,” Jogan said.
Bryan went into further detail on what to expect if you plan on going and potentially winning prizes such as brand-new laptops and iPads to Start your first year of college off right.
“The event is on Wednesday, June 5, at the Assumption Cultural Center in Saint Clair Shores,” Bryan said. “10:30–11 p.m. will be sign-in. The event will go from 4 to 4:30 a.m.”
Although Bryan says that students are not forced to stay the entire duration, they are still encouraged to enjoy and savor those last moments with their peers, which many students have grown up with throughout the years.
“I am most excited for the graduates to have a place to hang out one last time as a class,” Jogan said. “I promise it will be a good time.”
