On the night of Sept. 30, South’s gym transformed into a whirlwind of excitement and exhilaration as students celebrated the annual Homecoming dance. The event was a captivating blend of indoor dancing and outdoor activities, making it an unforgettable night for all who attended.
As her second school dance, Bella Leonard ’24 was eager to attend after hearing the rumors of an amazing DJ lined up.“Last year’s DJ was more of a two out of ten, but this year’s is a ten out of ten,” Leonard said.
A downside for most students is the lock-in policy, preventing anyone from leaving the dance until 8:30 p.m.“I wish the lock-in policy didn’t exist, but I like that it’s only an hour,” Leonard said. “It gives you enough time to see everyone and dance before you leave.”
Gus Nutter ’27 had a mix of excitement and nerves about experiencing his first school dance.“I decided to go because I’ve heard great things about it from other people that have gone,” Nutter said. “They made it sound like something I wouldn’t want to miss.”
The entire experience was a thrilling one for Nutter, and he said that would definitely like to attend again, “I like that you can dance with all your friends and that you kind of feel free,” Nutter said. “It was hot and sweaty but overall really fun.”
