New beginnings
May 12, 2021
Ever since I was young, I’ve always prided myself on being curious. This ultimately paved my place on Tower, a place where everyone else had that same curiosity as I did.
For the first time in my high school career, Tower was where I felt at home. Not only because of the people, but because of the knowledge that we were all there to produce the best news we possibly could. Our united motivation and ambition proved time and time again that we were capable of anything.
I always knew I wanted to be more than a staff writer and so I decided to apply to be a web editor my freshman year and then the associate editor of Pulse my sophomore year. Working on the website was a perfect fit for me and it has become second nature to me now.
I am so grateful to be a part of the leadership team on the website and I’m honored to be the editor-in-chief of the Tower Pulse next year, my senior year of high school.
I’m someone who welcomes change (for the most part). But as we know with this pandemic, we’re living in unprecedented times. So much has changed in the past year and as we get ready for the 2021-2022 school year, the website will be getting a bit of a remodel.
To say the least, I’m extremely excited for the remodeling process to begin. Currently, our website looks a little old-fashioned, so hopefully the remodel will bring in some modernity to it. There is an endless amount of possibilities that can happen with this remodel and nothing is set in stone, but we expect to have a larger media section as well as some organizational changes.
Additionally, I’m looking forward to working with my associate editor, Michael Hamilton, our supervising web editor, Becca Koch, our media manager, Sophia Fowler and all of the web editors on our team.
Thank you to everyone who has gotten me to this point– I wouldn’t be here without you.
So first, I want to thank my family and friends for always believing in me and supporting everything I’ve wanted to do in high school and on Tower.
I want to thank my friends on Tower for always being there to lend a helping hand, so thanks to Eleni Tecos, Michael Hamilton, Jane Kuhnlein, Becca Koch and Caroline Parent, just to name a few.
Lastly, I would like to thank Edge for always supporting me through my learning and believing in me as a writer and my leadership abilities.
I can’t wait for what next year and all it has in store for me and everyone else on the Tower.
