Four South senior athletes signed letters of intent to play in college on Dec. 11 in the student commons. Two out of the four student athletes will stay inside Michigan.
Benna Ames ’16 will attend Emory University in Ga. She will play basketball. The Emory womens team reached the NCAA Sweet 16 in 1995, 1997 and 2013.
Kayli Johnson ’16 signed with Michigan State to participate in their track program. Her family attended the signing along with her South track coach Steve Zaranek.
Raven Neely ’16 committed to play tennis at Northern Illinois University, 66 miles west of Chicago. Her father and younger brother were there to share the moment.
Alexander Parthum ’16 signed his letter of intent to Olivet College, 33 miles southwest of Lansing. Parthum will play baseball for the Comets. Both of his parents and Coach Dan Griesbaum attended his signing.
