Creating a scavenger hunt
When you’re stuck inside during the summer with nothing to do, contact your friends and make a scavenger hunt. To make a successful scavenger hunt, some things you must have are a general theme, a reward for the winner or winning group, and possibly a time limit to keep the game fun and to keep the players moving. An idea for a theme you could follow is pirate, space, alien, and Sports themes. Some fun ideas that you can include are diversions, which will keep players on their toes. You can even hide clues in creative places, like inside books or under furniture, to make things more challenging. To make this moment more fun and memorable, you can have each person take photos and videos to document their journey.
Homemade ice cream
If you ever are outside during the summer and want to cool down, mix milk, cream, sugar, and flavoring like chocolate or vanilla. After that, place it in a plastic bag, place it in a bigger one with ice, and move it around. Another way to do it is to just place it in the freezer, and then you would have just made yourself homemade ice cream. It’s a fun and easy treat you can whip up in a short time. Not only is it delicious, but it’s also a great way to cool your mind off and get a break from the heat of the summer sun. Plus, you change things up by adding fruits and other mix-ins like crushed cookies and Oreos to make it customized to your liking.
Start a garden
Starting a garden for cheap is doable and fun, but there are some things to look out for. A lot of cheap garden items you find online tend to be scams, because of this, it is better to buy things in stores. Local garden centers or hardware stores often have seasonal deals and clearance sections, where you can find items at cheap prices. You can also ask friends or neighbors for extra seeds or equipment they might have. Reusing containers, such as yogurt cups or old pots, is another great way to save money. Flowers and plants like tomatoes and cucumbers, geraniums and cardinal flowers tend to thrive in Michigan’s summer. If you have enough patience, you can start a cheap garden in no time while having a lot of fun.
