As captain of the Quiz Bowl team, Josh Koch 25’, has led South to many victories this year and has continued to raise the bar even higher for himself and his teammates as they progress into the finals. His commitment to preparing for competitions and guiding his peers at weekly meetings, as well as his excellent memory, has contributed significantly to his success.

“ I really try to pay close attention in my classes because a lot of the answers to the questions come from them,” Koch said.

Koch had initially heard about the club through one of his Cross Country teammates, who told him that his trivia knowledge would be the perfect match for the Quiz Bowl team, and he hasn’t looked back since.

“Our last competition was in Chicago where I took thirty second place out of two hundred people total,” said Koch.

The team will be taking on states next at the University of Michigan where they hope to continue their success. Although Koch is tasked with more responsibilities as captain he says that having this leadership position and being in the club is not only a great excuse to travel and meet cool people but a very fun community to be apart of as well.

“I definailty want to and will stick with the club for the duration of time im here at South,” said Koch.
