Tower Tribute Feb 10 Winner; Natalie White

Natalie White ’23 made this entirely terracotta clay piece in Ceramics I under the jurisdiction of Tom Szmrecsanyi. In total, the creation of Goat Head took two weeks to sculpt and color to completion, in order to achieve the ‘burnt’ look of the piece.

White describes she did not have a deeper meaning to attribute to this piece, she just simply made it out of love and hardwork.

“I just really wanted to sculpt a goat head,” White said.

From the Tower Web Staff, we would like to once again congratulate White on her beautiful pottery. The design of the goat’s eye is truly whimsical and the addition of the black, burn-like color makes the head appear well-used or even worshiped.
