Shyamalan’s latest production to the film series: Unbreakable, terrifies audiences yet at the same time pulls them in, and leaves them wanting more. With a recent release date of January 18, 2019, Glass stays in the spotlight of upcoming movies.

The movie follows three characters: David Dunn, Elijah Price, known as Mr. Glass, and Kevin Wendell Crumb, who suffers from Dissociative identity disorder (DID) . All the characters in the film believe that they have superhero powers, much like what is seen in comic books.

As seen in Unbreakable, the first film of the series, Hollywood star Bruce Willis plays David Dunn, an average looking male with super strength. Willis’s character is the father to his son Joseph, both him and his son look for crime and try to stop it.

The film begins with Kevin Wendell Crumb, played by James McAvoy, holding three girls hostage in an empty warehouse. This behavior is similar to what was seen in the second movie of the series, Split.

After only a few minutes into the movie, viewers are introduced to David Dunn, as he bursts into the warehouse freeing the girls, and attempts to fight off Kevin Wendell Crumb’s “Beast” personality. However, the fight scene is cut short when Dr. Ellie Staple played by Sarah Paulson arrives at the site and takes Dunn and Crumb into her custody and sent to the mental institution she works at.

Here, at the mental hospital David and Kevin have their first encounter with the notorious Mr. Glass portrayed by Samuel L Jackson.

Throughout the film the viewer is not given much information or background on the mastermind, Elijah Price other than he goes by the alias Mr. Glass and suffers from the disease of Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), making his bones very brittle. This all changes at the end of the film when the audience learns how Elijah Price earns his name of Mr. Glass.

With Mr. Glass, David Dunn, and Kevin Crumb, M. Night Shyamalan creates a trio to fear. Shyamalan’s Glass is unlike any thriller film yet, it keeps viewers on the edge of their seat and also gives them something to think about after watching.

Glass is definitely a must see movie of 2019, especially for the fans of Unbreakable series who are looking for another marvelous addition.

Overall, I would recommend this film to anyone looking for a good thriller, I rate it a 5/5 stars.
