Boys soccer dominated Roseville last Thursday with a final score of 7-0. Roseville slim chances going into this game, especially when South scored within seconds after kickoff.

“Coming into this game we knew that Roseville did not have the strongest team, yet we did not let that make us play down to their level,” Oliver Livingston ‘17 said.

South put up five goals by the end of the first half, which allowed the younger players on the team to get some valuable playing time against older opponents.

“It was good for the younger players to get out there, was good for them to get some needed experience,” captain Jackson Rosati ‘16 said, “The experience will help them for next year when they will be the older kids on the team.”

Honorable performance of the night was from Ethan Sutherland ‘17 with two goals.

“Even though they were not the best team, a lot of our players still brought all of their skill and tried their hardest so that they could guarantee a victory for the night,” Ryan Kotas ‘17 said.

Although this game was relatively easy for the boys, Saturday’s game will not be the same. South will face De La Salle on Saturday morning away at De La Salle.
“De La Salle is a much better team than we played today, we cannot come out with this attitude,” Kotas said, “ Yet I think that if we come out as a team and play to the best of our abilities, then there is a good chance we come out with a victory.”
