Girls volleyball lost to the Eisenhower Eagles at home on Tuesday, Oct. 20, by a score of 3 matches to 1.

“In the first part of the game, we really started to click, all of the team was working really hard it is just that we were not getting the bounces we need,” Lexi Kohut ‘17 said.

South had just come off a win against a very good Anchor Bay team a couple nights before that was taken into the fifth match.

“We had a tough last game against Anchor Bay, we knew that Eisenhower was a good team and it was going to be another battle all the way until the end.” Kayli Johnson ‘16 said.

South fought hard the whole game, keeping the score within a couple of points every match, and even winning the second match.

“As a team, I think that we are always looking to get better, for us I think that we need to bond closer as a team,” Kohut said.

“Communication was one of the reasons why we did not come out with a win tonight, we were thinking about ourselves out there and need to speak to each other to clean up our play,” Johnson said.

South’s next and final home game is next Tuesday, Oct. 27. The team will come out and play against Stevenson.

“We are just going to practice hard, work on receiving serves, and practice aiming high for hands,” Kohut said. “Stevenson has a good squad and it will be another battle where we will have to work as a team to come out on top.”

Come out and support your Blue Devils as they look to win Tuesday to end their home games with a victorious finish.
